Polaris Octane's are a hand crafted watercraft and occasionally have slight porosity's in the glue that bonds the hull. This often allows water to leak into the flotation foam and add considerable weight to your ski; it can also affect the handling characteristics. The hull drain kit allows you to drain the accumulated water from the inner hull, reducing the increased weight and "heavy' feel.
