One
of the easiest ways to damage a crankshaft is to pound
on the piston while trying to remove the piston pin.
The pounding can impact the rod bearings and cause
a major failure. As is this wasn't warning enough,
you can also bend the rod damaging the piston / bore
/ crankshaft alignment.
